To explore joint export opportunities towards African markets

The activities of the two-day Tunisian-Libyan B2B Meetings were launched in Tunis yesterday in the presence of Mohamed Al-Deeb, Director General of the Libyan Export Promotion Centre (LEPC) and Mourad Bin Hussein, President and Director General of the Tunisian Export Development Centre (CEPEX).

The event included the participation of 30 Libyan companies and 80 Tunisian companies in the sectors of agriculture, food industries, building materials, packaging and cosmetics.

In his opening speech, LEPC head Al-Deeb congratulated the organisers for making the event a success by organizing B2B meetings that bring together Tunisian and Libyan institutions in multi-sectors that aim to build real companies among themselves and gain experience to launch into world markets.

Large participation an important indicator
Meanwhile, the head of CEPEX, Bin Hussein, highlighted that this large participation between the two countries is an important indicator that reflects the depth of the Tunisian-Libyan relations and represents a real activation of the fruitful economic partnership between the two countries.

Joint export opportunities towards African markets
This large participation, he added, also indicated that the aim of intensifying direct B2B meetings is to explore joint export opportunities towards African markets, in addition to strengthening and advancing partnership and commercial and industrial integration between the two countries.

Earlier event held in Tripoli
It will be recalled that LEPC, in cooperation with CEPEX and the Tunisian Embassy in Tripoli, had organized on 6 March 2023 in Tripoli, B2B meetings between Libyan and Tunisian companies, during which 700 B2B meetings were registered under the slogan “Tunisian-Libyan Partnership and Integration to Access Global Markets”.
