The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied Tuesday what was published and circulated on social media and media outlets about the ministry’s request of the UAE ambassador to leave the country.

The official spokesman for the ministry stated that this news is false, stressing that the ministry is the only source for reliable data.

It stressed the strength and solidity of the distinguished Algerian-Emirati bilateral relations.

It also affirmed the joint keenness to raise it to the highest levels in implementation of the common will that challenged the leaders of the two countries, President Abdel Majeed Tebboune and the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Earlier, the Algerian channel “AL-Nahar” said, in an article it published on its official website before it was deleted, that Algeria had given the Emirati ambassador, Youssef Seif Khamis Saba Al Ali, 48 hours to leave the country.

It explained that the decision came after the arrest of 4 Emirati spies, who were communicating on behalf of the Israeli Mossad, to pass on confidential information about the state.
