Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, met with the Greek Ambassador to Egypt, Νikolaos Papageorgiou, on Monday to discuss ways of enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the health sector.
According to Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population, the minister praised the close and developing relations between Egypt and Greece and expressed his hope to achieve more cooperation that would improve the health system and the public health of the citizens.
The meeting tackled the issues of cooperation in developing hospitals in Egypt, exchanging experiences in training medical teams and developing specialized training in various medical fields, and increasing Greek investments in the public health field in Egypt, according to the health maps of the governorates.
The minister also discussed with the ambassador ways of cooperation to support the ministry’s plan to advance the health sector and to provide quality medical services for the citizens. He stressed that Egypt has a health system that attracts investments and that President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi is keen on supporting cooperation between Egypt and Greece in various fields, especially health care.
The meeting was attended by several officials from the Ministry of Health and Population and the Therapeutic Institution.
