Ravat – The Moroccan Agency for Nuclear and Radiological Safety and Security (AMSSNuR) and the Egyptian Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority (ENRRA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in the area of nuclear and radiological safety and security.

The two bodies signed the agreement on Friday at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) General Conference in Austria.

The agreement, which was signed by ENRRA Chairman Samy Shaaban and AMSSNuR’s Director General Said Mouline, focuses on the exchange of technical information and fostering cooperation in the critical domains of nuclear and radiation safety, as well as nuclear security.

Under the agreement, both parties have pledged to enhance cooperation in various key areas, including nuclear and radiological safety and security regulations, licensing, enforcement and inspection procedures, leadership and management for safety culture, and communications projects and strategies, according to ENRRA.

The agreement outlines a framework for a wide array of cooperative activities, including the organization of training courses, workshops, seminars, meetings, and working groups.
