Morocco’s export performance in aerospace and automotive sectors has significantly improved in 2024, according to the Foreign Exchange Office. Aerospace exports reached MAD 21.86 billion ($2.16 billion), marking a 17.3% growth compared to 2023.
This growth was mainly driven by the assembly segment, which saw a 26.9% increase, reaching MAD 14.26 billion ($1.43 billion). Morocco’s political stability and favorable business environment have helped position the country as a key aerospace hub.
Industry and Trade Minister Ryad Mezzour highlighted Morocco’s strategic location and skilled workforce at the 7th Marrakech Air Show, emphasizing the nation’s goal to double aerospace sector employment by 2030.
Meanwhile, exports of Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS) saw a modest 2.6% increase, totaling MAD 7.51 billion ($761 million). This reflects steady growth in the electrical components sector.
Phosphate exports also showed a significant rise, increasing by 12.5% to MAD 68.34 billion ($6.87 billion). The automotive sector, Morocco’s largest export industry, saw an 8% increase, reaching MAD 131.35 billion ($13.28 billion), driven by strong sales in vehicle components.
