Sisi and Macron Meet in Dubai to Enhance Egypt-France Relations

CAIRO – 1 December 2023: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi met with French President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of the 28th UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference (COP28) in Dubai.

The presidential spokesperson stated that the meeting focused on enhancing the distinguished bilateral relations between the two nations, reflecting their strategic partnership across various sectors.

The discussion also followed up on international and regional issues, particularly climate change and the escalation in the Gaza Strip.

Both presidents exchanged views on recent developments, with President Sisi outlining Egypt’s vision on the necessity of a ceasefire and expanding humanitarian aid into Gaza. He also highlighted Egypt’s efforts in receiving injured Palestinians and evacuating foreign nationals.

The two leaders agreed on the urgency of finding solutions to the ongoing crisis and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid.

They emphasized the importance of initiating a comprehensive political process aimed at reaching a fair settlement of the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution, in accordance with relevant international references.
