Tunisian security forces have successfully dismantled two drug trafficking networks in Ben Arous and Ariana provinces, close to the capital, Tunis. The operations were reported by Tunisian National Radio.
In separate operations on Saturday, the security units apprehended nine individuals. They also seized an undisclosed quantity of narcotics, cash, and a vehicle, according to Xinhua news agency.
The specific timing of the operations and the nationalities of the suspects were not disclosed. However, the report confirmed that two of the arrested individuals were wanted for various charges.
The Tunisian government has been firm in its fight against drug trafficking. The authorities have recently conducted several nationwide operations targeting drug-related crimes.
These operations have resulted in the arrest of hundreds of individuals linked to the illicit drug trade, highlighting Tunisia’s commitment to tackling this growing issue.
