He discussed measures to promote ties between Vietnam and Japan, which this year celebrates the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations, are preparing to take their strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia into a new stage of development.
The Vietnamese and Japanese peoples have many similarities as well as special relations between their cultures, said Deputy Prime Minister Trân Hông Hà.
Vietnam is one of the countries with a very high sense of responsibility and is ready to work with Japan to achieve global commitments and goals, which contributes to making Vietnamese-Japanese ties a model in cooperative relations between developing and developed countries, he said.
He also discussed the potential for cooperation between the two countries in the just energy transition, the transition from coal to renewable energies, training and the exchange of human resources.
The Vietnamese leader suggested a mechanism for just energy transition and carbon neutrality similar to the Covax facility set up to provide low-income countries with a large supply of vaccines against Covid-19.
Developing countries can only achieve the just energy transition, net zero, if developed countries promote, on their own initiative, the transfer of renewable energy technologies, electrical energy storage, green hydrogen production, of green ammonia, he estimated.
For his part, Takebe Tsutomu said that promoting and consolidating Vietnam-Japan relations has significant significance for the development of each country, especially in the face of unpredictable global changes and challenges in food security, energy, social security. and climate change…
