Algeria’s FM Attaf Holds Talks with Djiboutian Counterpart

Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf held bilateral talks with Djiboutian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mahmoud Ali Youssouf on Sunday in Oran. The meeting occurred on the sidelines of the 11th High-Level Seminar on Peace and Security in Africa, taking place from December 1st to 2nd in Oran, Algeria.

The discussions focused on key issues related to the seminar’s agenda. Both ministers highlighted the importance of the Oran Process, which has been instrumental in improving coordination among African countries to address the continent’s challenges.

FM Attaf and Minister Youssouf also explored ways to capitalize on recent achievements, such as Africa’s inclusion in the G20. The ministers discussed the progress made in advocating for reforms in the UN Security Council, a key priority for African nations.

The meeting emphasized strengthening African unity and cooperation to confront security and political issues facing the continent. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing collective solutions within African frameworks.

The talks also underscored the positive momentum towards broader international recognition and support for Africa’s role in global decision-making, including reforms in international institutions.
